Participant characteristics related to dropout among Alzheimer's Disease Centers' cohorts Lead Investigator: Erin Abner Institution : Univ of Kentucky E-Mail : erin.abner@uky.edu Proposal ID : 544 Proposal Description: Based on observations of our own cohort, the underlying hypothesis for the study is that participants are more likely to drop out after an initial diagnosis of MCI. We are interested to see whether there are other variables that are more strongly associated with probability of dropout, and whether there are variables that confound, mediate, or moderate the association between MCI diagnosis and dropout. We believe it is important to identify participant factors related to dropout to better inform retention efforts. Specific Aim 1: Identify clinical, cognitive, and demographic characteristics related to participant dropout among Alzheimer's Disease Centers' cohorts using survival analysis. Specific Aim 2: Identify clinical, cognitive, and demographic characteristics related to participant dropout among Alzheimer's Disease Centers' cohorts using multi-state Markov chain analysis to account for competing risk of death.
